Isle Royale National Park is Michigan's only National Park. The island is roughly 45 miles long and nine miles wide and is located about 50 miles north of the Keweenaw Peninsula. The island contains approximately 165 miles of trails and is home to various flora and fauna. The island's moose and wolves have been the subjects of the longest continuous predator-prey study in the world.

For some time now I have been reading this author's hiking journals from his web site. From the very first one I was impressed with his easy, take-you-along-for-a-hike style. The author's descriptions of the scenes place the reader right there. His quiet humor comes through, and his great appreciation for the outdoors is obvious.
This short read is easily his most enjoyable to date. You can finish the read in one sitting - but you won't be disappointed. For a fun, light read, I highly recommend this book!
